4 More Days and I STILL Don't Have a PlotJust shoot me now >.<
And the problem is not that I have a lack of ideas--I just have no. IDEA. WHICH. ONE. TO. WRITE.
(So maybe I
do need an idea

)
I want to write something light-hearted and adventure/action-y, like the stuff I used to write. Recently, all this psychological thrillers with deep, multilayered themes and complex plots and crazy characters have been the norm. I think my psyche needs a rest.
But the only promising premises (and when I say "promising", I mean ones that'll get me at least through the first week of Nano before abandoning me with a withered out plot. Maybe.) are either too boring, too romancey (I don't do romance-genre), or too complicated for my recovering psyche to handle.
The others...well, they're kinda giving me the If-you-write-me-I'll-leave-you-floundering-in-the-pits-of-Lost-Plot-Despair-where-the-plot-bunnies-turn-evil-and-gnaw-at-your-withering-muse eye. You know,
that kinda look.
My mom wants me to write my romancey one, which is basically a rip-off of the Bible story of Esther, but set in a different time, different place. With more government conspiracies and the like*. Then there's this premise I have where this guy tries to force his best friend to sin because he thinks that she's being a holier-than-thou Apostolic Christian in order to break her down; and the town's secrets are a driving factor. I recently came up with a new fix where a bunch of street kids steal what they need to survive from the rich, but with a very unique (and kinda improbable) twist. Then there's this one with a school shooting and kidnapping that ends with a church prison ministry.
And there are many more premises that lack plot as well. Eh, I guess this is what NaNo is anyway, right? "Literary Abandonment"?
Time to buckle down and abandon all thoughts&concerns and just choose a freaking plot!
... I shudder to think what's gonna happen to me in Week 2.
*I seem to be obsessed with conspiracies. Makes me wonder...
